Bernina 4mm Roll and Shell Hemmer Foot 69

Roll and Shell Hemmer Foot 69 performs several steps in a single sewing operation.

The foot is designed with a special scroll that turns the fabric edge under twice to prevent the fabric from fraying, creating a 4mm narrow sturdy hem.

A scalloped (or shell-like) edge is produced when a blindstitch or overcasting stitch is used.

A guide, or channel, in the base of the foot holds the turned hem in place. This guide is deeper and rounder than found in normal hemmer feet, which enables the decorative, slightly three-dimensional hem to feed through evenly.

The foot is suitable for hemming soft fabrics such as knits, tricot, undergarment and T-shirt fabrics etc.

This foot fits the old Bernina mechanical models from the 530 to the 1630, including the current 1008.
